Asymptotics of the Stirling numbers of the first kind revisited: A saddle point approach
نویسنده
چکیده
Using the saddle point method, we obtain from the generating function of the Stirling numbers of the first kind [ n j ] and Cauchy’s integral formula, asymptotic results in central and non-central regions. In the central region, we revisit the celebrated Goncharov theorem with more precision. In the region j = n− n, α > 1/2, we analyze the dependence of [ n j ] on α.

Modified degenerate Carlitz's $q$-bernoulli polynomials and numbers with weight ($alpha ,beta $)
The main goal of the present paper is to construct some families of the Carlitz's $q$-Bernoulli polynomials and numbers. We firstly introduce the modified Carlitz's $q$-Bernoulli polynomials and numbers with weight ($_{p}$. We then define the modified degenerate Carlitz's $q$-Bernoulli polynomials and numbers with weight ($alpha ,beta $) and obtain some recurrence relations and other identities...
متن کاملStirling Numbers and Generalized Zagreb Indices
We show how generalized Zagreb indices $M_1^k(G)$ can be computed by using a simple graph polynomial and Stirling numbers of the second kind. In that way we explain and clarify the meaning of a triangle of numbers used to establish the same result in an earlier reference.
متن کاملOn the Distribution and Moments of Record Values in Increasing Populations
Consider a sequence of n independent observations from a population of increasing size αi, i = 1,2,... and an absolutely continuous initial distribution function. The distribution of the kth record value is represented as a countable mixture, with mixing the distribution of the kth record time and mixed the distribution of the nth order statistic. Precisely, the distribution function and (pow...
متن کاملAsymptotics of the Eulerian Numbers Revisited: a Large Deviation Analysis
Using the Saddle point method and multiseries expansions, we obtain from the generating function of the Eulerian numbers An,k and Cauchy’s integral formula, asymptotic results in non-central region. In the region k = n −nα, 1 >α> 1/2, we analyze the dependence of An,k on α. This paper fits within the framework of Analytic Combinatorics.
متن کاملGeneralized Stirling Numbers of the First Kind: Modified Approach
A modified approach via differential operator is given to derive a generalization of Stirling numbers of the first kind. This approach combines the two techniques given by Cakic [3] and Blasiak [2]. Some new combinatorial identities and many relations between different types of Stirling numbers are found. Furthermore, some interesting special cases of the generalized Stirling numbers of the fir...
